in that it offers a nutritional value similar to meat while remaining totally vegetable. It’s the ideal food for those who whish to eat a healthy and nourishing meal and still enjoy all the flavors of the Mediterranean cuisine.
Wheat and legumes are the basic ingredients that make Wheat’s Muscle a more complete food than seitan, soy or tofu.
It is also the best solution for those who whish to reduce and possibly eliminate meat and fish from their diet, in order to avoid fat and cholesterol intake.

The Wheat's Muscle was born mainly from a health need; was created by Enzo Marascio in 1991 when, suffering from hypertension and diabetes, he decided to abandon the classic traditional medicines for a healthy diet. Devoted to the search of valid foods to replace meat, he discovered the seitan, which began to prepare at home with the help of his wife Marisa. But the seitan was not enough tasty. So he began to spice it up and make it more nutritious, added the lentils, which already he liked a lot. At the beginning, the result was not satisfactory, but day after day he worked to improve his first mixture.
By means of trial and error, one day Marascio stumbled - by pure accident – into what was to become the successul formula of his world-renowned Wheat’s Muscle: the proper combination of wheat, lentils and all sorts of Italian aromatic ingredients and spices. While fully satisfiying the highly demanding taste of an Italian palate, this combination also offers a much higher protein intake than Seitan or Tofu.
In a matter of months the Italian vegan community made Wheat’s Muscle the number one food on their table and the flagship for vegetarian, tasteful Italian eating worldwide. What a treat is is to eat healthy without having to give up the taste of a good Cotoletta Milanese, Filet or Ground Ragù.
Once again, Italian tradition and ingenuity have found the way to be combined in an excellent, unique form of nutrition based on Enzo and Marisa Marascio’s Wheat’s Muscle.
